
Installation Guide & Checklist
This installation can easily be completed by someone with a basic text editing familiarity.
If pre-requisites are met, installation will take less than 3 minutes.

BEFORE we can schedule your installation.
Web Server
Microsoft Windows 2000/2003 Server with latest Service Packs
Microsoft IIS 5.x or higher
.NET 1.1 Application Framework installed on web server
GetProof's webNetwork appropriately implemented. DO NOT attempt to use VisApp on Production Data without this step.
Connectivity between web server and DB server. *
Your mapped appointment application template.
(Provide
your application in .doc or .pdf format and GetProof's Professional Services Team will map it for you.)
Database Server
Microsoft Windows 2000 Server with SP3 or higher
Microsoft SQL Server 2000 with latest SP
Client Software
Microsoft Windows 98, ME, NT, 2000, or XP
Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher
* IMPORTANT! Network Security is your responsibility. We strongly recommend you use industry best practices and
closely control access to network resources.
The GetProof webNetwork Application Framework will allow you to safely expose data to authenticated users via secured and
encrypted connections and sessions.
DO NOT use this product without the GetProof webNetwork!
Assumptions
The following instructions REQUIRE that all pre-requisite software has been installed and configured correctly. This includes
Microsoft’s IIS 5.0+, Microsoft SQL Server 2000+, GetProof’s VisionPro application and GetProof's webNetwork framework.
Pre-Installation Checklist:
The installation wizard will complete successfully only if ALL prompts are completed successfully during the install wizard.
If invalid data is entered, the installation will stop and back out all changes - returning the system to it's initial state
prior to running the installer.
1. Begin Installation
On your IIS (web) Server, run the VisionApplication v204.msi file. Click [next].
(This installer will create a virtual directory and make all necessary IIS configuration and application server settings.)
Enter the Database Information for your database server when prompted. Click [next].
Enter the Email Settings for your smtp server when prompted. Click [next].
Provide the Port Number of your already functioning IIS web server when prompted. Click [next].
Click [next] to start the installation process. When prompted, click [close] to exit the installer.
2. Provide your (mapped PDF) application form
Copy your mapped PDF file(s) to <approot>/PDFTemplates/<filename.pdf>.
(This location will typically be: c:\inetpub\wwwroot\VisionApplication\PDFTemplates\<filename.pdf>)
If you have multiple applications, name them as follows (or make them match pgDisplayPDFReport.aspx):
mappedPDF1.pdf = Initial Appointment Application
mappedPDF2.pdf = Re-Appointment Application
mappedPDF3.pdf = Other Application
etc...
3. (OPTIONAL) Modify Initial and Final Instruction Page Templates
This step requires you to have knowledge of HTML coding
Modify (if needed) the body of the Instuction and Submit Instruction pages in VisionApplication.
(Their default locations are:
c:\inetpub\wwwroot\VisionApplication\InitialPage.htm)
c:\inetpub\wwwroot\VisionApplication\Print_Instructions.html)
4. (OPTIONAL) Modify Email Templates
Modify (if needed) the body of the three email messages sent by VisionApplication.
(Their default locations will be:
c:\inetpub\wwwroot\VisionApplication\MailTemplate\SubmitApp.txt)
c:\inetpub\wwwroot\VisionApplication\MailTemplate\RejectApp.txt)
c:\inetpub\wwwroot\VisionApplication\MailTemplate\ReApp.txt)
5. (OPTIONAL) Modify Email Template Subject Lines and/or Mail Settings:
Modify (if needed) the values in
the Codes table in the database. This is where we store the settings that
determine which mail server/account/password/address we use to communicate with
applicants and the Medical Staff Office (as provided during installation). It
also contains a row for each of the email subject lines and the default "holding
entity" code.
6. Install webNetwork
