Bruce MacLellan is the founding President & CEO of Proof. His success combines growing thriving businesses with building strong internal cultures of inclusion, empathy and professionalism. His work experience includes the private sector, politics, government and charities and he continues to apply his entrepreneurial thinking to new opportunities for Proof and our clients. Inside the company, Bruce is known for encouraging people to go outside their comfort zone and always look for ways to innovate.
Bruce’s commitment to the environment and corporate leadership resulted in Proof becoming the first North American marketing firm to be carbon neutral (since 2008). The company is also the only communications agency ever to be named the #1 workplace in Canada by the Great Places to Work Institute (in 2010).
Bruce holds a B.A. and M.A. from the University of Toronto. An active volunteer, he is past-Chair of the of the Nature Conservancy of Canada, a Board member of Canada’s National History Society and Chair of the Public Relations Program Advisory Committee at Humber College.

Josh is a communications veteran with over two decades of experience supporting some of the world’s leading brands. As Executive Vice President and General Manager at Proof, Josh brings a wide range of communications experience and expertise to clients in the areas of corporate communications, media training, brand building, issues management, stakeholder relations and multi-disciplinary program planning. Josh has provided voluntary service to the Toronto Community Foundation and the Toronto City Summit Alliance’s “Greening Greater Toronto” initiative. Josh’s work is infused with passion and creativity, earning Proof and its clients over a dozen marketing awards, and even two entries in the Guinness Book of World Records.
Executive Vice President
Vanessa’s open-minded and empathetic nature along with her curiosity to know more and relentless pursuit of new ideas and results makes her a trusted partner to many long-standing Proof clients. As Proof’s innovation lead, Vanessa is focused on collaborating with teams internally and clients to shape Proof’s approaches and services to meet clients’ evolving needs and solve business and organizational challenges.
Vanessa also co-leads Proof’s CanTrust Index research initiative. She uses study insights and knowledge along with her extensive communications experience to counsel clients on how to build trust internally and externally with stakeholders to foster stronger relationships and better business results.
In her 20 years at Proof, Vanessa has held several positions including previously leading the Health & Wellness Practice where she specialized in team building and performance and servicing clients in both the pharmaceutical and not-for-profit health sectors to build and protect brand reputation.
Senior Vice President, Digital & Consumer Marketing
Steve Acken is a 20+-year strategic communications veteran specializing in digital and consumer marketing integration for today’s connected brand. He oversees the Digital & Consumer Marketing practice at Proof, and helps companies to establish their strategic course through the right balance of earned, owned and paid channels, while delivering measurable programs that ladder back to business KPIs.
Working with clients to create experiences that transform the relationship between their brand, their customers and the cultural trends around them, Steve and his team plan and launch engaging programs that solve true business challenges.
Steve believes the key to building strong customer relationships begins with understanding audience needs and responding in a purposeful way through content that creates value, builds awareness and drives action.

Communicating messages in clear, compelling ways that resonate with multiple stakeholders is part of what makes Melody quickly become a part of any client team. Melody’s varied experience covers many facets: strategic planning, integrated communications, media & influencer relations, stakeholder campaigns and crisis & issues management. Her career spans both the B2B and B2C spaces, which allows her to apply many best practices to enable client success. Often her clients are in highly regulated environments, which requires a deep understanding of governments and policy implications.
Melody is a Durham College Alumna of Distinction and an Ontario Premiers Outstanding College Graduate nominee. She has also won numerous awards from IABC and CPRS throughout her career.

Jennifer Glickman brings over 20 years of experience specializing in health care communications. With her trademark energetic approach, Jennifer leads clients through the strategic planning process to ensure marketing and communication programs ladder up to business/organization objectives, with measurable outcomes linked to each campaign. A skilled facilitator, she regularly convenes working groups and roundtable discussions aimed at creating alignment and action-oriented plans. Working in both the profit and not-for-profit space, she leads her team to develop programs that integrate traditional, social and digital approaches to educating and influencing target audiences. An avid road-cyclist, Jennifer regularly logs over 250km weekly until the snow falls.
Senior Vice President, Government Relations
Beginning as a campaign volunteer in university, Greg spent almost 15 years immersed in Canadian politics at the provincial, municipal and federal levels, including as an advisor to senior cabinet ministers, and providing media relations assistance for the Office of the Prime Minister. Named twice to the “Top 25” Parliament Hill staffers list, he moved to the private sector in 2008, and has been and has been named frequently to their list of Canada’s Top 100 Lobbyists, most recently in 2017.
Greg has led Proof’s government relations practice since 2010. In addition to his professional experience, Greg is known for his political media commentary, weekly on CTV’s Power Play, as well as a Huffington Post podcast contributor and with various other media outlets.

As Technology & Internet Services Practice Lead at Proof over the last five+ years, Vanessa leads her team of specialists to develop integrated communications programs for prominent technology and digital lifestyle brands, constantly evaluating results to ensure the team is delivering outstanding ROI.

Prior to joining Proof, Hugh was the CEO of Mansfield Communications where he successfully ran agency operations throughout North America for close to 24 years.
Hugh has a BA from York University, a diploma in Political Science and Economics from TFAS (Georgetown University), Certificates in Enterprise Data Management, Digital Marketing (U of T), and a certificate in Commercial Real Estate (Cornell University). Hugh currently sits on the advisory board for the Rotman School of Management’s MMA program (U of T).

Mimi Carter heads the U.S. office of Proof. She has been both a nonprofit and agency leader in her 20+ year career; her communications work with clients has centred on everything from education, arts, and health-science, to technology and financial services.
Mimi’s deep background in traditional media, reputation management, and crisis communications has helped her lead initiatives for many major U.S. brands. She also has deep expertise in content marketing, creative collateral development and online advertising.

Silvie Letendre is a fully bilingual, accomplished communications professional with over 25 years of experience from both the agency and client side, including 16 years working for global companies based out of Montreal.
