Bruce MacLellan is a veteran communications counsellor and entrepreneur, and was the founding President & CEO of the Proof organization over two decades ago. Bruce has provided counsel to leaders in business, government and not-for-profits and continues to apply his entrepreneurial thinking to opportunities with clients. Inside the company, Bruce is known for encouraging people to go outside their comfort zone and always look for ways to be better.
Prior to founding the Proof organization, Bruce was Executive Vice President at an international public relations agency, where he developed the firm’s first Code of Ethics. His commitment to the environment and corporate social responsibility resulted in Proof becoming the first North American marketing firm to be carbon neutral in 2008. In 2010, the company was named the #1 workplace in Canada by the Great Places to Work Institute.
Bruce holds a B.A. and M.A. from the University of Toronto and as an active volunteer is Chair of the National Board of the Nature Conservancy of Canada.

Josh is a communications veteran with over two decades of experience supporting some of the world’s leading brands. As Executive Vice President and General Manager at Proof, Josh brings a wide range of communications experience and expertise to clients in the areas of corporate communications, media training, brand building, issues management, stakeholder relations and multi-disciplinary program planning. Josh has provided voluntary service to the Toronto Community Foundation and the Toronto City Summit Alliance’s “Greening Greater Toronto” initiative. Josh’s work is infused with passion and creativity, earning Proof and its clients over a dozen marketing awards, and even two entries in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Vanessa Eaton is a health care communications specialist with over 18 years of experience. As the Health & Wellness practice lead at Proof, Vanessa collaborates with clients to build integrated strategies that engage, educate and influence stakeholders, ranging from the public, patients and caregivers, health care professionals and government. Vanessa serves both the profit and non-for-profit health and wellness sectors and is known for her open-minded approach, progressive thinking, and insatiable appetite for results.

Steve Acken is a 20+-year strategic communications veteran specializing in digital and consumer marketing integration for today’s connected brand. He oversees the Digital & Consumer Marketing practice at Proof, and helps companies to establish their strategic course through the right balance of earned, owned and paid channels, while delivering measurable programs that ladder back to business KPIs.
Working with clients to create experiences that transform the relationship between their brand, their customers and the cultural trends around them, Steve and his team plan and launch engaging programs that solve true business challenges.
Steve believes the key to building strong customer relationships begins with understanding audience needs and responding in a purposeful way through content that creates value, builds awareness and drives action.

Melody’s varied experience covers many facets: strategic planning, integrated communications, media & influencer relations, stakeholder campaigns and crisis & issues management. Her career spans both the B2B and B2C spaces, which allows her to apply many best practices to enable client success. Often her clients are in highly regulated environments, which requires a deep understanding of governments and policy implications.

Beginning as a campaign volunteer in university, Greg spent almost 15 years immersed in Canadian politics at the provincial, municipal and federal levels, including as an advisor to senior cabinet ministers, and providing media relations assistance for the Office of the Prime Minister. Named twice to the “Top 25” Parliament Hill staffers list, he moved to the private sector in 2008, and has been and has been named frequently to their list of Canada’s Top 100 Lobbyists, most recently in 2017.
Greg has led Proof’s government relations practice since 2010. In addition to his professional experience, Greg is known for his political media commentary, weekly on CTV’s Power Play, as well as a Huffington Post podcast contributor and with various other media outlets.
